1 BEAUTY-FUL RECIPE FROM GREEN BARBES

A recipe with a holistic approach to nourishing face, body and the imagination. Created by Hélène Ségol and Clémentine Buren, the co-founders of natural DIY cosmetics brand Green Barbès.

"In order to affront the winter chill, we have concocted a deeply nourishing whipped non-dairy cream to moisturize deeply while warming you up with the smell of summer.

We have also included an adaptation to create an acerola-enriched face mask from the same base. (Acerola is an amazonian treasure, full of vitamin C, highly antioxidant and with a toning effect. Great for fighting pollution...and the winter doldrums.)

Start by creating an almond butter coconut oil base with the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of almond butter
- 1/2 cup of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of borage oil (borago officinalis)
- 10 drops of Monoi or vanilla essential oil or 10 drops of our signature Green Barbès fragrance (containing citrus, lavender and rosemary) Note: Skip the oils if you are pregnant.

Recipe:
1. Melt almond butter and coconut oil in a bain-marie.
2. Mix well.
3. Add the borage oil and essential oils.
4. Refrigerate to cool and harden (about 30 minutes)
5. Whisk by hand until fluffy.

Preparation: 10 minutes + time to chill.

This base should last about a week. We recommend it just before bed.

To make a face mask, add 2 teaspoons of acerola powder to 2 teaspoons of the whipped cream."

1 MOVING MEDITATION BY MEGHAN WALLACE JAMES

Meghan Wallace James brings her gift for Modern Feng Shui to clients the world over to co-create environments that are energetically, aesthetically and intuitively charged. The following meditation is one of our go-tos to feel grounded, inspired and grateful. 

"1. Be barefoot. 
2. Rub your clean hands together to generate energy. If Reiki attuned, input Reiki symbols. 
3. Create a ball of energy between your activated, extended palms; pulsate your open palms to and fro; feel into the vibes: their density, temperature, speed. 
4. State out loud: 'I establish my divine presence on earth.'
5. Raise the ball above your head and then spread the energy around your body. 
6. Gather a second energy ball between your activated palms; take the second ball up and around.
7. Repeat a third time. 
8. Gather a fourth energy ball. 
9. State out loud: 'I declare my divine purpose fulfilled.'
10. Send this energy ball to the core of Mama Gaia. 
11. Place your hands in prayer position. 
12. Close with Amen or Namasté."

1 BATH RITUAL BY JESSIKA LE CORRE OF FEATHER EAGLE SKY

A self-care ceremony by the luminous founder of the plant-based beauty brand. With love from Santa Fe. 

"Start by lighting copal or incense for this purifying healing ritual. 
Run a hot bath. 
Add fresh or dried mugwort, white yarrow, wild sage, rose and eucalyptus and let incense fill the room while you undress.
Stroll the incense around your naked body, under your arms, the soles of the feet, the hands, the back, the face and especially the heart. Above the crown of your head, then around the bathroom and bath.
During this ritual, I sing sacred songs Los Icaros (chants of Amazonian shamans) but you can also sit in silence or pray. This releases negative energy and is both therapeutic and protective.
Immerse yourself in water for 20 minutes or more, then rinse with cold water. The suggested plants are extremely shielding, illuminating, ideal for dreaming/visions and healing. Our modern world (that of the machines) is very trying, for the body as for the spirit. It takes a lot of the psychic energy necessary for our fulfillment.

This ritual is not just a bath, but a ceremony of self-love, protection and communion with plants."
